Devotional: "Is Your Door Plumb?"
Focus: Personal reflection on being 'in alignment' with God.
Scripture: “Therefore thus says the Lord God, ‘Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed... I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line...’” — Isaiah 28:16-17 (NASB)
Bishop Dennis Davis shares a story about a door in the school he built. To the workers, it looked fine because they had measured it. But to the Bishop’s eye, it was off. It wasn’t “plumb.”
Much of what we call “church” today looks fine on the surface. We have the programs, the lights, and the numbers. But when you hold it up to the plumb line of the Kingdom of God, something is out of balance. We have traded the Government of God for a social club.
Kingdom living is all about Alignment. God doesn’t want to just “bless your plans”; He wants to align your life with His way of doing things. Are you willing to let the King “straighten you up” today?
Reflection: If you feel “batty” or unsettled in your spirit lately, it might be because you’ve drifted out of alignment with the King’s priority. Ask Him today: “Lord, show me where my life is not plumb with Your Word.”

We have spent too long trying to build numbers instead of building according to the Blueprint. Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone, and His Word is the plumb line. If our lives and our assemblies aren’t aligned with ‘His way of doing things,’ then they aren’t plumb.
It’s time to stop measuring by the world’s standards and start measuring by the King’s Decree. Seek first the Kingdom. Get back to the foundation.”
